Prospect Surgery Announcement

It is with a heavy heart that it can be revealed after nearly 19 years at Prospect Surgery, Dr North has decided to relocate with his family to Kent to be closer to members of his extended family.

He will be greatly missed by both staff and patients alike and we wish him well for his plans after March 2020. We want to say a huge thank you to Dr North for all his hard work, commitment and efforts over the years.

Understandably, this will leave patients with questions about clinical provision at Prospect Surgery.

This is being addressed and discussions are ongoing with Wakefield CCG and Church Street Surgery.

One of the options being explored is merging Prospect Surgery and Church Street Surgery as one, larger practice that can offer greater capacity and a wider skill mix.

We want to know what patients registered at both surgeries think about this idea so plan to engage with all patients if given the go-ahead to begin this process by the CCG at the probity committee being held on Tuesday 28 January.

If the engagement process does proceed, there will be lots of ways you can voice any queries or concerns; There are plans for a combined meeting of both practices’ Patient Participation Groups and a joint opening evening, to which all patients will be invited to attend.

There will also be dedicated areas set up on both practice websites, providing patients with information and ways to get in touch.

We will keep you fully informed at all times about these developments as they happen. Thank you for your ongoing support.
